Winter Solstice Takeover
Winter Wonderland (Sydney)
Our Sydney ladies gathered at Giant Sydney, finding it transformed into a winter wonderland with bare branches wreathed with fairy lights for the Liv Winter Solstice takeover.
A glass of wine in hand, we joined good food guru The Wholesome Athlete (aka Liv ambassador Meg Gilmer) for a demonstration of her delicious natural choc bomb and lemon surprise bliss ball cycling snacks - with plenty of samples to go around!
Next up our Athlete Panel talked through targeting your dream event, with Liv ambassadors Alice, Bel, Shaz, Meg (and special guest star, offroad Tri Queen Jacqui Allen) swapping winter training tips and plenty of laughs.
As we covered everything from goal setting to recovering from injury, bike position and favourite training snacks, it felt like a casual chat amongst good friends. Before we knew it it was time to say our goodbyes and make our way out into the longest night - fuelled with fresh inspiration to keep pedalling towards warmer days.
Pilates Positions (Adelaide)
It was a cold and dark Wednesday evening, but that didn’t deter us from celebrating the shortest day of the year in style; with a cycling-specific Pilates class at the Giant Adelaide store.
Thankfully, it didn’t take us long to forget the winter blues and begin to warm up, thanks to Liv ambassador and Pilates instructor, Rhiannon Hughes. Her expertly guided class had us stretching and strengthening muscles from head to toe.
Mind you, it wasn’t just a physical workout, it was mentally challenging too – mainly involving trying not to giggle as we contorted our bodies into previously unfamiliar positions, seemingly for the merriment of all. Still, it kept the mood light and fun.
The positive vibes continued afterwards over some nibbles and drinks. That, and knowing that we could look forward to exactly 1-2 seconds of additional daylight the next day.
